What Medications Should You Stop Taking Prior to Allergy Testing?

If your physician deems allergy testing necessary, you should discontinue all antihistamines five days prior to your appointment. Taking antihistamines could interfere with your testing results.

How to Read Your Local Pollen Count

Pollen is essential to the survival of the planet, but it can also be an extreme irritant to the more than 67 million Americans who suffer from allergies. Just how irritating pollen is going to be on any given day is estimated by a pollen count which measures how much pollen is in the air. It is expressed in grains of pollen per cubic meter over a 24 hour period.

Low

Only extremely sensitive people will have symptoms.

Moderate

More people will have allergy symptoms.

High

Most with pollen/mold sensitivity can experience symptoms.

Very High

Almost everyone with mold/pollen allergy will experience symptoms.
