Dr. Cole is a double board-certified physician in internal medicine and obesity medicine with over 20 years of experience in clinical care, academic medicine, and healthcare leadership. Holding additional master's degrees in applied nutrition (concentration in nutrition & fitness), and health administration he carries a patient-centered, integrative perspective to primary care, weight management, menopausal care, longevity and wellness, chronic inflammation (Long COVID and related conditions), and men's health.
He has held faculty appointments at Yale University School of Medicine and Quinnipiac University's Frank H. Netter School of Medicine. Dr. Cole began his clinical career at the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system, where he helped develop a lasting commitment to patient advocacy and equitable care. While at the VA Center of Excellence in Interprofessional Collaboration he was one of the initial core faculty for the inaugural interprofessional training program. This program combined Nurse Practitioner Fellows in primary care with Yale Internal Medicine Residents and has since served as a blueprint for the national interprofessional collaboration standard in VA healthcare education and care.
Dr. Cole has founded and led multi-specialty medical groups serving more than 40 million patients with expertise spanning health systems, virtual health, employer programs, and community health centers. Licensed in all 50 states and in the District of Columbia, Dr. Cole is able to provide care throughout the entire U.S. As a healthcare leader, he continues to develop scalable clinical systems and digital health solutions that expand access and improve clinical outcomes, advancing a more connected, personalized, and preventative model of care both locally and nationwide.
